Introduction of computer

A computer is a device or machine for making calculations or controlling operations that are expressible in numerical or logical terms. Computers are constructed from components that perform simple well-defined functions. The complex interactions of these components endow computers with the ability to process information. If correctly configured (usually by, programing) a computer can be made to represent some aspect of a problem or part of a system. If a computer configured in this way is given appropriate input data, then it can automatically solve the problem or predict the behavior of the system.

 Earlier a computer was used only for scientific and engineering computational work.But nowadays, coputers are entensively used for different works such as storing information, transmitting information, creating and handling files in offices, controlling induastrial machines and processing , controlling business, and commercial appliances , ticket reservation in airlines and railways, dianosing diseases, recording games events ,composition of music,painting , printing newspapers,preparing drawings,in security managements and in education,.Some of the major applications where computers are used are listed below:-

One of the most important use of computer is in the field of science for research and development. The computers have played a major role in most of what we know about ourselves and the universe. The satellites, the telescopes and almost all the research tools make use of computers in some or the other way. The huge calculations required for space science, safe communication between scientists, storage of all the gathered information are some of the computer uses in science and technology.

Today most computers are capable (through either a phone line or a cable connection) of exchanging information over the Internet. Your child can send a message from his or her computer to the computer of a neighbor or a friend on the other side of the planet. Students might use computers to communicate with their classmates about homework assignments, group projects, or other school-related activities. They may also use them to submit homework assignments and presentations to their teachers.

The architects and engineers are extensively using computers in designing and drawing .Computers can create objects that can be viewed from all the three dimensions.By using the techniques like virtual reality ,architects can explore houses that have been designed but not built . Automobile,aircraft aerospace and ship designers use Computer Aided Designing (CAD)technique in the design of various types of vehicles.

The banking sector has improved on fronts such as security, ease of use, etc. with the help of computers. Most of the banking operations can be done online, known as Internet banking, and you don't have to walk up to the bank for virtually anything. You can withdraw money from ATMs and deposit money in any branch, thanks to the networking effected by the use of computers. The complete banking experience has also become more safe.
